Meet Hannah — from an Optometry student on placement to a First Class Honours Optometrist — Hannah has been part of the Matthews team since 2024, and we’re very glad she decided to stick around!

Hannah is our Dry Eye Guru and is passionate about full-scope optometry, ocular health, and making sure her patients get the continuity of care they deserve. She’s also therapeutically qualified, meaning there’s very little she can’t tackle when it comes to keeping eyes happy and healthy.
When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll most likely find her planning her next trip — basically anywhere that involves adventure, fresh air, or being underwater! 😎

Meet Elizabeth - Elizabeth joined the Matthews family in 2022 as an Optometrist after graduating from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Optometry, with First Class Honours!

Therapeutically qualified, Elizabeth can prescribe medication to treat a range of eye conditions. She enjoys working with patients of all ages to find personalised eye-care solutions - whether that means improving vision, managing eye health, or helping someone finally admit that the menu isn't printed too small. 😉
Outside the clinic, Elizabeth can usually be found exploring the outdoors or tackling her latest crochet creation, proving she has an eye for detail both on and off the clock. 😎

She holds a therapeutic qualification, allowing her to prescribe medications for certain eye conditions. She is also registered to perform CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) eye examinations.
When Elaine is not focused on great vision, you'll often find her enjoying one of her many forms of dance - proving she has an eye for detail and some seriously good moves! 😎

As the youngest member of the team, Myah spends her days welcoming patients with a smile... and being regularly quizzed by the rest of the team when a "classic" song comes on; she should know who the artist is. 🫣

When Myah isn't trying to guess who's singing a song from decades ago, she's helping patients, assisting around the practice, and making sure everything runs smoothly at the front desk.
She's proof that great customer service doesn't come with an age requirement - even if her music knowledge is still a work in progress! 😎
