TLC clothing workroom was started in 2019 after having two years off from the clothing industry. I first fell in love with sewing at age 8 while making dolls clothes using my mother's industrial machines. My career in the clothing industry started 35 years ago on the ground floor in manufacturing. Making NZ high-end clothing brands, and then tutoring pattern-making and sewing. I then went into bus
iness with my husband designing and manufacturing my own NZ label (Sas). TLC clothing workroom now is a patternmaking and sampling service. We also sew small runs of garments which we sell in capsule lots. The Travel Lounge and Sas brands enjoy a loyal following and success, with our attention to detail, creating tailored garments with a point of difference that customers love. We love to construct unique garments out of fabric from Dee’s ideas. Each piece is a blank canvas, designed to create a sleek silhouette, adding embroidery or a focus point to express your style. We are looking to inspire women to look unique and independent. In the world of mass manufacturing, it’s great to see slow fashion is still alive making sustainable NZ-made clothing. Clothing made in NZ, values the makers so we can never tire of creating new designs. The best part of the job is the fulfilment we get when you see someone wearing an outfit we have made.
