Am printing the latest BP Rally Taumarunui merchandise orders today and it got me thinking…

I wonder how many of these will be Father's Day presents? 🤔

Father's Day is only a couple of weeks away, after all.

And it actually makes me wonder what makes a good Father's Day present.

Because surely it doesn't have to be something specifically made for Father's Day.

Sometimes it's just something that makes you think:

Yep. Dad would love that.”

Maybe it's a BP Rally Taumarunui t-shirt because he was there on the day.

Maybe it's a hoodie because he's been following rallying for years.

Or maybe it's simply something local that he can wear with a bit of pride.

Anyway, I've got a pile of Rally Taumarunui orders to print, so I suppose I'll find out soon enough. 😄

Just a thought.

A little behind the scenes at Auto T’s… 👀

I am absolutely fascinated by this machine! 😂

I learnt to sew on my Mum’s Singer treadle machine, so watching this thing happily embroider away — and even thread its own needle — feels like some kind of futuristic magic 🤣

Am having an absolute ball learning what this machine can do ❤️

This is one of my first little embroidery projects, and watching a design appear stitch by stitch is seriously cool.

And yes… this is the beginning of something new for Auto T’s. 👀

I’ve already got BP Rally Taumarunui beanies underway, and once I’ve got the process properly figured out, I’m looking forward to creating proper embroidered badges, teamwear and all sorts of other cool stuff.

There is something pretty special about learning a completely new way of making things — especially when you started out with a treadle machine and a foot pedal! 😂

Stay tuned… I think this little machine and I are going to have some fun 😎❤️

A little heads-up 👋

After what has been a pretty epic few weeks — culminating in BP Rally Taumarunui — I’m taking a couple of weekends off from the markets ❤️

So you won’t find the Auto T’s stall out and about on 15–16 August or 22–23 August.

But don’t worry — Auto T’s isn’t taking a holiday completely! 😄

BP Rally Taumarunui apparel is still available, along with the rest of the Auto T’s range, through our website:

Orders can be placed online and I’ll get them sorted for collection or delivery as usual.

Good things happen when amazing people are involved ❤️

What a weekend!

BP Rally Taumarunui was so much bigger and more special than I ever could have imagined — and looking back, one thing stands out more than anything else: none of it happens without amazing people.

That includes this legend, my dear friend Kat, who stepped in and looked after the Auto T’s merchandise stall while I was out competing in the rally 🥰

There was absolutely no way I could have done both without her. She kept the stall running, looked after customers, sold a mountain of merchandise and generally made sure everything was under control while I was off having my own little adventure ❤️

And then there was everyone who came and bought a shirt, grabbed a hoodie, ordered something, or stopped by the stall for a chat. Thank you. It genuinely means so much to me.

Seeing people walking around wearing the Rally Taumarunui designs was pretty special — especially knowing that so many of those shirts are now heading out into the community and beyond.

But really, this is bigger than merchandise.

BP Rally Taumarunui itself only happened because a whole lot of amazing people gave their time, skills, energy, passion and belief to make it happen. The same is true of this little business of mine.

Good things really do happen when good people get involved.

So thank you, Kat and a huge thank you to the incredible Helen who takes such great care of me and my fur baby 😀

Thank you to everyone who bought or ordered BP Rally Taumarunui gear. And thank you to every single person who played a part in making this weekend happen.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the Auto T's stand today to say hello, check out the merchandise, and talk all things BP Rally Taumarunui.

It was fantastic meeting so many passionate rally fans, hearing your excitement for next weekend, and seeing so many of you take home your official BP Rally Taumarunui gear. The support has been incredible, and we truly appreciate every conversation, every purchase, and every word of encouragement.

It's hard to believe that after months of planning, we're almost there!

This Sunday I'll be at the Owhango Market with Auto T's and the full range of official BP Rally Taumarunui merchandise.

With the rally cars travelling through Owhango on their way to the afternoon stages next Saturday, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to spend the day talking all things rally!

If you've got questions about the event, whether it's where to spectate, how the day works, or what to expect, come and have a chat. I'll be more than happy to help.

Next weekend I'll have two very special roles... and I couldn't be more excited about it. 💙🏁

I'll be competing in BP Rally Taumarunui while also bringing the full Auto T's BP Rally Taumarunui merchandise range along for the day.

Over the last few months, it's been a privilege to play a part in helping bring this event back. Everything from planning meetings, community engagement to designing the merchandise, it's been amazing to watch the excitement build as rally day gets closer.

Now it's almost time to swap the planning for a helmet and pace notes.

As much as I've enjoyed helping behind the scenes, I can't wait to get back out on the stages and experience the event as a competitor too.

If you're coming along next weekend, I hope you have an amazing day. If you see me around—whether it's in the service park or at the Auto T's merchandise stand—please come and say hello. I'd love to catch up. 😊🏁

🏁 The Story Behind the Official Event Collection

Every detail in the Official BP Rally Taumarunui Event Collection has been designed to tell the story of the rally itself.

The flowing lines woven through the design represent the iconic King Country roads that make BP Rally Taumarunui such a rewarding event to compete in. Fast, flowing and technically demanding, they're the kind of roads that challenge competitors while rewarding precision, commitment and consistency.

Alongside those roads are three car club logos.

At first glance, they may simply look like sponsors, but they're something much more meaningful.

These clubs have contributed their experience, volunteers and countless hours behind the scenes to help bring Rally Taumarunui back.

The Event Collection was designed to recognise that partnership.

It becomes a reminder of what can be achieved when clubs, volunteers, sponsors and communities work together to create something special.

Whether you're competing, volunteering, spectating or supporting from the sidelines, you're part of that story too.

❤️ Yesterday was a day none of us expected.

Like many in our community, Saturday's earthquake gave us a real fright. It was a reminder of just how quickly life can change and how important the people around us really are.

A huge thank you to our emergency services, local contractors, council teams and roading and rail crews who have been working tirelessly to keep our community safe.

Yesterday at the Manunui Market, the conversations were different. People weren't just browsing or shopping – they were checking in on one another, sharing their experiences, asking if everyone was okay, and simply taking the time to connect.

Moments like these remind us that it's never just about the place – it's about the people.

And that's what makes this community so special.
