Sewing group is on again this week at the Thames Scout Hall on Barrett Road.

Plenty of sewing machines and supplies available along with patterns and project ideas.

There’s going to be one happy little girl with this book bag made at tonight’s sewing group.

We get together the first Friday of every month to sew together and help each other learn. Tonight there were pencil cases, a book bag and trousers created as well as some pattern making going on.

My husband shakes his head every time I ask him to pick up another sewing machine for me.

But this blind hemming machine he collected (willingly) for me earlier in the year is really coming in handy now his parents brought over an actual mountain of curtains to be hemmed 😂

I just don’t let him in my studio to count the rest of the machines hiding in here.

Some last minute corset making for Steampunk The Thames Inc. This one and more will be available at the Steampunk Market on Saturday in the Salvation Army Hall.

Thank you to the wonderful and talented ladies that came to the corset making workshop yesterday. There were some impressive corsets completed by the end of the day.

Thank you Seagull Centre! The grant we received to get more sewing machines is going to allow so many more people to learn how to sew, upcycle and mend their own clothes.
