Some days are harder than others. That doesn’t mean you’ve failed, and it doesn’t mean all the progress you’ve made has disappeared.

Healing isn’t about feeling better every single day. There will be good days, bad days, and days somewhere in between.

If today is a difficult one, be kind to yourself. Take it one day at a time and keep going. ❤️

You’re still making progress, even when you can’t feel it.

Thanks, prohibition! 👏

Another massive cannabis grow busted by NZ Police, while prohibition continues to hand a lucrative black-market opportunity to criminal networks.

We already have a regulated medicinal cannabis market. Why not apply sensible regulation to adult-use cannabis too?

Tax revenue could be directed into healthcare, addiction services, drug education and harm reduction, while regulation could mean age restrictions, testing and quality controls.

50+ years of prohibition. Maybe it's time to try something that actually works. 🌿

💚 GANDALF IS BACK IN COURT — LET’S FILL THAT STREET AGAIN! 💚

Paul “Gandalf” Smith is back at the Whangārei District Courthouse, Tuesday 1 October at 11:45am, and we need to show him and his family that they’re not standing alone.

It’s been more than 18 months since police raided Gandalf’s Northland property, destroyed his greenhouses, and charged him with six offences relating to growing and supplying cannabis and cannabis oil. The most serious charges carry up to 14 years in prison.

A trial date is finally expected to be set. And according to the Crown’s own timeline, that trial may not be heard until 2028.

That’s potentially three years from raid to trial, for a man who has spent years providing cannabis to hundreds, and according to supporters, potentially thousands, of Kiwis living with cancer, chronic pain, PTSD and other conditions.

Bring your placards, whistles and loud voices, along with your warmest smiles. 💚

Wear green if you've got it.

This is a peaceful, family-friendly rally. Your presence can make a huge difference to Gandalf and his whānau.

Can’t make it to Whangārei? You can still stand with him.

Gandalf’s Give-a-Little page and the Parliamentary petition calling for an amnesty for medicinal cannabis patients and their providers are both linked in the comments below.

💚 Stand with Gandalf. Stand with medicinal cannabis patients. Stand for compassion.

New Zealand’s industrial h**p sector is calling for more growers to get seed in the ground this spring, following recent changes that have made low-THC h**p cultivation simpler.

For eligible low-THC h**p varieties, growers no longer need a full cultivation licence and can instead meet the requirements through notification to Police and MPI.

That opens the door to more small-scale growing, including on lifestyle blocks and in emerging cottage industries, where experimentation, local processing and new ideas can take root.

H**p already has applications across food, fibre, textiles, construction, wellness and more. Yet regulatory barriers remain, including restrictions affecting areas such as animal feed and natural health products.

This is exactly why sensible cannabis law reform matters.

Cannabis is a diverse plant with a wide range of uses, and regulation should reflect the actual risks and intended use of different cannabis products, rather than relying on outdated blanket prohibitions.

The progress being made with industrial h**p shows what can happen when regulation becomes more practical, proportionate and evidence-based.

The same principle should guide the wider conversation about cannabis: regulate responsibly, reduce harm, support legitimate industry and give adults safer legal options.

🌿 More seed in the ground today could mean more innovation, jobs and opportunity tomorrow, and another step towards a smarter, more rational approach to cannabis regulation in New Zealand.

New Zealanders might start seeing what looks like illegal cannabis growing more in people's backyards or lifestyle blocks, as the industrial h**p industry expands access to seeds for aspiring growers.
