Father's Day! Instead of a double strap this can easily be changed to a single strap creating a cross body bag - Kamni from Copperfield Collective in Kapiti would be happy to explain. Had another great 'Sew like a Pro' day at the Copperfield Collective in Kapiti last month where they made up the Leah blouse from the Kitset. It was a lot of fun and many laughs! Showed some industry sewing methods to speed up the sewing process - I felt like a Supervisor in a Clothing Factory watching over the production line :) Encouraged sewing 'notch to notch' with limited pins although a few were snuck in.....will keep you posted for the next one!

Another session helping out at Just Sew, the first Saturday of the month, Sustainability Trust, 2 Forresters Lane - off Tory Street in Wellington. I just love the way the sun shines into the building on a winters day :) It's only for a few hours once a month and in exchange for a few jobs on the sewing machine a chance to meet some incredible people. Plus they have furnishing fabric for sale - really, really cheaply!! The Curtain Bank operates out of the same building so there is a treasure trove of furnishing fabric for as little as $3 a metre or make an offer on a whole roll of fabric. Seriously need to go and check it out :)

Looking for a school holiday project? Laundry bags, Shoe bags, and Swimming bags sewing kits are now in Copperfield Collective, Kapiti. It's a great introduction to sewing and extremely practical - always take laundry and shoe bags when travelling.

The Lola dress pattern is now available at the Copperfield collective in Paraparaumu as well as on-line. Try on the sample dress to understand the fit. Perfect wardrobe staple, and easy to sew. Make it shorter/longer, short sleeved/long sleeved, change the neckline, make it your own :)

Finally, back to sewing after working on WoW entries - nothing seems impossible after that :) (except waiting for the results!!) Taking these patterns for the Lola dress up to Copperfield Collective in Paraparaumu in the weekend. Also have some other novice sewing kits lined up. The Collective is a great shop with local artisan products so if you are in the area check it out.
