Book recommendations please 📚

I love reading and the nostalgia of paperbacks, but I don’t often get a chance to sit down and enjoy a good book.

I’m all about audiobooks these days (via Audible app) as it means I can listen to them when packing orders, working on reno bits and pieces, cooking dinner, going to sleep etc.

My ‘to read’ (/ listen) list is getting a bit light so would love any recommendations you have 🤗🧡

We’ve got good news!

We may not have dreamy holidays to Greece planned - so envious of Jude in this pic ! - but we’ve finally got the long awaited delivery of our scarves and woggles (held up by lockdown) scheduled for the end of this week 🙌🏼🙌🏼

I’m hoping that I can have the website updated early next week, so keep your eyes peeled! 👀

Has been a while since I’ve popped my face on the grid. So here it is along with my beautiful fam.

In a nutshell:
- I’m a Kiwi and Stefan is Brazilian (we met in London, a Tinder success story!)
- I have a PhD in textile chemistry and try to maximise using my Dr title as much as I can. 😆
- After finishing my PhD I spent a season living in Palma de Mallorca working on super yachts 🛥🤑..... it was a lot of fun but it reminded me that I like to use my brain and I’ve since spent 10 years living and working abroad in textile product development (France and the UK). The past 6 years in director roles.
- I developed LOMIE scarf bibs during my maternity leave with our first born, Maximilian, and when I returned to my full time role in the UK, we also launched LOMIE as our side hustle.
- LOMIE has been many things for me, it has challenged me and given me the personal satisfaction which I was not able to have in my day to day role - particularly surrounding sustainability.
- I’ve been very proud to create a product where every aspect of the production, use and end of life has been considered within the design - and to then go on and be awarded Best Eco Product Design 🙌🏼
- But awards aside, the best thing about it all (hands down!) is having people love LOMIE as passionately as I do ✨✨✨
- We returned to NZ at the beginning of the year for my maternity leave with our youngest Malakai. The challenges that COVID posed have made us realise that family is our number one priority. Because of this, we have decided to stay for good.🧡🧡
- LOMIE remains our side hustle, but there are big career changes for us both as we now focus on building our main hustle, a brand new family business, a microbakery, .nz, here in beautiful Whangamatā.
- And not to forget our reno project 🏚➡️ 🏡 which has been keeping us extra busy and I’ve been sharing snippets on our stories. I told a friend today that we hoped to be in by Christmas. His response had me laughing out loud: ‘Sounds like grand designs bingo..."the couple hopes to be in by Christmas..." Now you just need to get pregnant and max out your second credit card.’ 😂😂 Please no, our fingers (and my legs) are crossed! 🤞🏼
