Another busy week with work and my side hustle. One young man was very excited to be able to wear long pants every day and another client loved the fast turn around.

Photo one is the difference between pressed and unpressed - a nice touch for my client.

Finally remembered to take a photo of one lot of alterations! Rehemming these two macpac tops for an under height individual. Having a coverstitch is a must for this type of work, but the machine is a bu**er to change the colour on.

This week I’ve done some double shifts for my day job, not something I’d recommend!!! I have managed to finish Mr Hedgehog and am quite pleased with how he looks. Have also gained some more customers which is beneficial for my little business.

Thank you to those who choose to use me for your alterations, it’s really keeping my small business plodding along. This week I have two items to alter but no pictures yet. Alternatively I have been doing some hand sewing and am in the process of finishing this cute sloth that cost all of a $3 in a second hand store, and a knitted hedgee hog that hand no instructions for the arms, so I made them up!

Well this week I was super busy rehemming six pairs of pants for various clients but I didn’t take any photos. However I give you one of my dog Hoki all rugged up in this cooler weather. I’ll also give you a tip when sewing on a regular machine - keep the fabric taut at the front and the back of the sewing foot and you won’t get puckered seams.

This week I tried a new technique for mending a dress jacket, whereby you pull the sleeves through an opening on an internal sleeve seam. Only twisted one seam, which was easily fixed! Also finished a jacket for me and a lovely winter skirt for Mum.

What a glorious week it’s been weather wise, so I’ve been outside rather than sewing! I even mowed our back lawns so my son didn’t have to spend two hours doing all of them. Some knitting I finally finished, a snuggly or ruggly, whatever you want to call it.
