In 2010 I made Xmas gifts for all my family (instead of buying them) and Suzie Rae Creations was started. I now specialise in unique soft toys, children's sunhats, baby shoes (felt/possum & cotton/fleece), watercolour abstract art cards and latterly, liturgical stoles and chasubles.

I needed carry bags for my Bernette Chicago 7 sewing machine and it's embroidery attachment, so decided to make my own. Super pleased with how they both turned out. I found the fun material at Arthur's Emporium and decided to quilt it for extra protection.

Just wanted to let you all know that I have decided to make Suzie Rae Creations purely an order only enterprise and discontinue any supplies to stores. The raw materials for this quilt were given to me by a dear friend who knew she would never get round to it, but hoped I would. I probably wouldn't have chosen this particular pattern myself, but now that it's made I absolutely love it. The panels are all hand appliqued and the rest of the top is machine pieced. Now... how to quilt it??

My UFO (unfinished object) that I have been trying to get to for ages. Today I finished piecing the hand-embroidered blocks and sashing and also managed a row of sawtooth squares. This quilt was given to me all cut ready for piecing and appliqueing. When the top is finished I plan to hand quilt it and have it hanging above our bed.
