Did you know Active Attitude does Parkour?
I didn’t either until last week, and as soon as I found out, I signed my 6-year-old son up straight away.
He is always setting up obstacle courses at home using our bar stools, couch cushions, benches, and pretty much any cushion he can find, so when I saw Parkour was available, I knew it would be right up his alley.
He had been counting down the days until his first class, and on yesterday he finally got to give it a go. He had the best time and learnt so much in just one session. His coach, Samuel, was so patient and knowledgeable, and the class kept changing things up to hold the kids attention the whole time.
They practiced forward rolls, jumping from bar to bar, jumping from block to block, and even got to climb up a small wall. It was such a great mix of movement, fun, confidence-building, and learning how to move safely.
Parkour classes are for ages 5 - 14, with beginner, intermediate, and advanced options across different age groups. Active Attitude also has a six-level Parkour curriculum, and once members complete Level 2 and show good Parkour etiquette, they may be invited into the Outdoor Crew, where they can take their skills outdoors over the summer months.
My son is already looking forward to learning more, and he is very excited about the idea of hopefully joining the outdoor Parkour crew by summer.
If your child loves climbing, jumping, moving, and creating obstacle courses at home, this might be something worth checking out.
And even better you could also be in to win a $100 Active Attitude voucher to use towards any of their services. Make sure you keep an eye out for the giveaway details at the market on the day.
