We renewed our Regenerative Organic Certified®️ status — and reached Silver level.
At Bergman/Rivera, we’re proud to announce the renewal of our Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) certification, this time at the Silver level — the tier that marks true, measurable adoption of regenerative organic practices across an operation.
And we’re even prouder to share this: we are the only cotton project in the Americas to hold ROC Silver certification.
Reaching this level is not a small milestone. It requires:
Soil Health & Land Management — a significant share of fiber-producing land under regenerative practices: at least 50% of our fiber-producing land certified, with a commitment to reach 75% within five years.
This means diversified crop rotations, expanded vegetative cover, reduced tillage, and continuous soil-building practices — not a one-time fix, but a long-term system.
Farmer & Worker Fairness — continued progress on fair, living wages and safe working conditions for everyone in our supply chain.
A full annual audit, since ROC recertification audits are required every year at all levels, and an operation must meet 100% of the required practices for the level it claims — there’s no partial credit.
ROC also builds on top of organic: no operation is eligible for any ROC level without first holding USDA Organic certification or an internationally recognized equivalent. Silver is the level where practices stop being aspirational and become verified, audited, and sustained — that’s what makes it hard to earn, and even harder to keep.
This renewal reflects the ongoing work of the farming families who grow our cotton, and our shared commitment to soil that gets healthier every season.
