“God has a purpose for your pain.”

Hey sunshine,

Have you ever heard the story of kintsugi? It’s one of my favorites. Many years ago in Japan, a sh**un broke his favorite tea bowl. When it was sent away to be fixed, it came back stapled together, and honestly, it looked worse than before. Disappointed, he asked his craftsmen to find another way. That’s when they created something new. Instead of hiding the cracks, they filled them with lacquer and powdered gold. The broken bowl didn’t just work again, it became more beautiful than it had ever been. And that’s how kintsugi, the art of golden repair, was born.

I think that’s exactly what God does with us. He doesn’t cover up our scars or pretend they aren’t there. He fills them with His love. He takes the places where we’ve been broken and makes them stronger, brighter, and full of purpose.

And maybe that’s the lesson for us. Brokenness doesn’t mean failure. The pain you’ve carried, the moments that felt like they shattered you, can actually become the very places where God’s light shines through the most. Every crack is a place where His grace can show up.

So if you’re walking through pain right now, hold on to this truth: you are not broken beyond repair. You are in the hands of the Master Artist. And in His hands, you are becoming a masterpiece.

Hey,

A new week is a new canvas. Carry the lessons, release the weight, and let every moment be a brushstroke of grace.

No matter what yesterday held, mistakes, doubts, or even victories, today is still a fresh start. Yesterday doesn’t define you. Every sunrise wipes the slate clean and gives you a chance to create something new.

Think about it like this: imagine an artist painting. If they focused only on the strokes they didn’t like, the canvas would never be finished. Instead, they add new colors, new shapes, and little by little, a masterpiece unfolds. Life works the same way.

Here’s what I want you to hold on to this week: you are not defined by what went wrong before, but by the courage you have to begin again. Every step, every choice, is another stroke of color in your story.

Affirm this with me:
“I release what no longer serves me, I welcome what’s ahead, and I trust that grace will guide me.”

So walk into this week lighter, softer, and braver. Your story isn’t finished, and you have the power to paint it beautifully.

With love and hope,
You’ve got this.

The Philocalist Diaries

Hey, a happy & blessed Sunday to you. Here’s a gentle reminder for your heart today:

The world often tells us we have to push, prove, and perform just to be seen. It celebrates pride, power, and self-promotion. But God whispers something different: rest in humility. You don’t have to force your way forward. He sees you. He knows your heart.

“For all who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” – Luke 14:11

True greatness isn’t found in striving or lifting ourselves above others. It’s found in walking humbly with God, serving with kindness, and leading with love. Humility doesn’t mean weakness. It means trusting that God’s timing, His plan, and His favor are greater than anything we could chase on our own.

Your quiet faithfulness is never wasted. When you stay grounded and keep choosing grace over pride, God Himself will lift you up in His perfect way, in His perfect time.

Save this scripture as a reminder to choose humility today, for in God’s kingdom, the humble are the truly exalted.
