Let's face it: caring for your teeth during the holidays may be difficult! Here are four ways to take care of your teeth while still enjoying the season's festivities:
Drink lots of water
Water benefits us in many ways: it keeps us hydrated, aids in keeping our skin healthy, and is excellent for our teeth and gums. Whenever we drink water, it aids in washing down any remaining food and dirt and inhibits bacteria from accumulating.
Be prepared
During the holidays, we are always on the go, from shopping to visiting relatives, doing errands to attending festivities to having great trips. It is beneficial to keep a few items on hand to assist you in maintaining your oral health care regimen. Please keep floss, a toothbrush, and other travel-friendly items in your bag to use as you need them.
Avoid munching and snacking
When you consume anything, your body generates an acid that aids in digestion. While this is beneficial to digestion, it might develop issues with our teeth over time. It helps that we have a clear beginning and end to our meals, rather than nibbling throughout the day.
Regular checkups and cleaning
Don't forget to call us to schedule your regular checkups and cleanings! We may be inclined to skip our regular appointments "until next year" during the holidays because we are so busy. Maintain your oral health regimen and essential dentist visits to keep your gums and teeth healthy.
