I panic every time there’s an earthquake. Every. Single. Time.
Over the years, we’ve had several, the strongest I’ve felt was around M4 to M5... that was enough to send me running out of the shower.
Yesterday, we had another quake, stronger than the one (~10 days ago) that hit another city in the middle of the country. It struck somewhere off the coast like some previous quakes, but the nearby cities were shaken. On this screenshot, my city (CDO) is the farthest from the epicenter radius… but our apartment building still gently shook.
Once again, I was ready to get my mom and whichever cat I could catch, but my mom pointed out that the cats were not bothered. I turned around and sure enough, one cat was still sleeping, the other just rolled over with a look that said, “Who’s shaking my bed?”
So I stayed put. A few seconds later, the swaying stopped.
We didn't have cats during the previous quakes. But now, I’ve decided, the only time I’ll really panic is when I don’t feel anything… and the cats are the first ones running for the door. 🐈💨
