This is it! My first race of the year, and I’m taking on 42km across the majestic islands of Batanes.

Honestly, just standing here in the ‘Home of the Winds’ feels like a victory already. This marks my second full marathon and a massive personal milestone as this is also my first ever race outside Mindanao.

I flew here solo with nothing but guts and a dream. I’m not sure if there are other Bisaya runners on the starting line, but if I’m the only one, I’ll carry the Bisdak pride with every single stride. From the northern bays of Mindanao to the rolling hills of Batanes, padayon lang! Sukol lang! Bisaya gani!

Let’s go Batanes Island Running Festival -BIRF 2026! STC! 💪
