Direct eye contact is one of the things that makes Punch so captivating to people. So when he calmly looks straight at someone, people naturally feel “seen” or acknowledged by him.
It gives his interactions a very expressive, almost human-like warmth.

Punch already seems comfortable and secure enough to move naturally between independence and companionship.

It feels like a very social and symbolic troop moment — almost like a shared group activity where everyone, from adults to babies, participates together. The image of the mothers carrying their little ones (i lost count) actually while moving with the troop makes the whole scene feel even more touching and united.

And Panchi joining despite being so small probably made him stand out even more.

UPDATE:
The wound was caused by accident while playing—she jumped from the enrichment equipment and scratched his face into the branches while chasing other monkey... and proper treatment has already been given.

Because a macaque — one of those who is always with and protective of Punch — got hurt, people once again can’t help but blame the zoo administration and call for reforms in its operations.
