1PESO Philippines English Series Bank Notes
The 1 peso Philippine banknote featuring Apolinario Mabini was part of the English Series, which was the first banknote series issued by the Central Bank of the Philippines. It was printed from 1951 and remained in circulation until it was demonetized in 1974. The banknote featured Mabini on the front and the Barasoain Church on the back.
The Central Bank of the Philippines was established in 1949 and issued the English Series banknotes in 1951, which were the first official banknotes printed by the bank.
Demotion:
The English Series, including the 1 peso Mabini note, was demonetized on February 28, 1974, along with the Pilipino Series. This was done through Presidential Decree No. 378.
