When you don’t know where to begin, it is always best to begin it with Jesus.
When you are scared to begin your battle, begin it by kneeling in prayer.
When you cannot see what lies ahead, begin looking at Jesus.
When you don’t know what to do, begin by doing His will.
When you don’t know what His will is, begin by using His Word as your lamp, your guide.
When you don’t know where to start, start by following Jesus.
And when beginnings scare you, start by trusting Him.

AN OPEN LETTER FOR YOU ON THIS NEW YEAR
Dear Fellow Pilgrim,
Each new year welcomes us with another blank page to answer:
“Where do I begin?”
And nothing is more intimidating than beginnings — like writing this letter to you.
Today, I decided to start a new journey called Daily Light to keep a record of the important things GOD is teaching me each day on this journey of life. And this time, I’m not keeping it to myself as I perceive it helpful to have you, my dear reader, as my accountability partner on this to keep me consistent on what I have started. Will you? Will you please remind me to write here when a day, or a weak, passes by without me sharing my learning with you?
(I hope you see that as a good trade.) *wink*
Anyways, this letter you are reading is a testimony of how I learned to begin.
Because today I learned that:
When you don’t know where to begin, it is always best to begin it with Jesus.
When you are scared to begin your battle, begin it by kneeling in prayer.
When you cannot see what lies ahead, begin looking at Jesus.
When you don’t know what to do, begin by doing His will.
When you don’t know what His will is, begin by using His Word as your lamp, your guide.
When you don’t know where to start, start by following Jesus.
And when beginnings scare you, start by trusting Him.
I’ve learned that you do not have to have it all figured out before you begin; wisdom lies not in knowing but in trusting the One who knows.
I’ve learned that you don’t have to wait for fear to subside before you begin. Courage is not the absence of fear, but conquering your fears.
And I’ve learned that the victors of this race aren’t the strongest, neither the bravest, nor the swiftest, but the humblest — those who are wise enough to admit to themselves that this journey is impossible without Jesus and those who take the hand He offers to walk with Him.
As I end this letter, please know that I have prayed for anyone who will read this, that GOD would touch your heart to start your year right — that you would start it with Jesus, because a wrong beginning can never lead to a right ending. Before you start writing your goals, planning your life, begin by asking Jesus. You can never go wrong when you start right with GOD!
HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR!!!
In Christ,
