Jisoo update 🐾💛

Our little fighter has been healing incredibly well and is now back to being playful and active 🥹 Sometimes she even forgets she still has an open wound and tries to go up the stairs (we’re keeping a close eye on her, don’t worry!).

We’ve been consistently cleaning her wound, and the progress has honestly been amazing. We’re so grateful to see her getting stronger every day.

As for the situation: we haven’t yet had the chance to speak directly with the vets who handled her case. However, we were able to meet with Ma’am Analyn and Xem from Island Rescue Organization. They were very apologetic about what happened and shared that they were following the instructions given by the vet/clinicians. They also reassured us that they will do their best to help settle the expenses incurred for both Jisoo and Yuki’s medications.

We’re taking things one step at a time, focusing on Jisoo’s recovery and making sure she continues to heal safely and comfortably.

Our brave girl Jisoo is getting better every day. She’s eating well, resting better, and slowly healing but she still needs continuous care and follow-ups.

We’ll be at Cebu Sunday Market this Sunday to continue supporting her recovery.
If you’d like to help, we encourage you to support by purchasing the crochet pieces I made. Each one is made with love and goes directly to Jisoo’s healing.

Jisoo, our 1-year-old Shih Tzu, is currently recovering from severe burns after a spay procedure and is undergoing treatment and wound care.

To help cover her medical expenses, we will be selling my handmade crochet items this Sunday, March 22 at Cebu Sunday Market. We have pet hats, coasters, scrunchies, flowers, bucket hats, and headbands available, and every purchase will go directly toward Jisoo’s recovery.

Hi everyone, this is Jisoo, our 1-year-old adopted Shih Tzu.

What was meant to be a routine spay procedure during a free spay program turned into a heartbreaking situation when she sustained severe burns during the recovery process. In the days that followed, her condition worsened as the burns caused severe inflammation and parts of her skin became necrotic.

Jisoo is currently receiving treatment, wound care, and medication to help her recover. While she is strong and still eating, her healing process will take time and the medical expenses continue to grow.

We have already asked the organizers of the event for accountability and assistance with the medical expenses, and we are still waiting for their clear response.

In the meantime, we are raising funds to help cover Jisoo’s treatment.

This Sunday (March 22), we will be at Cebu Sunday Market, Cebu Business Park, Mindanao Ave., selling my handmade crochet items. Available pieces include pet hats, coasters, scrunchies, flowers, bucket hats, and headbands. Buying any of these items would mean so much to us, as every purchase will go directly toward Jisoo’s medical care.

If you would still like to help but prefer to donate instead, we will also gratefully accept any amount.

Earlier this year, I shared about my dad’s cancer and opened crochet commissions to help with our medical expenses. One of the first communities that truly showed up for me was Papi and Friends. After I shared my situation in the merchants’ GC, so many of them commissioned crochet pieces to help support us.

While my dad is still recovering and not yet cancer-free, my heart is full knowing how much love and support surrounded us during a difficult time. To everyone who commissioned, ordered online, and visited me at every pop-up—thank you. Your support has helped our family continue my dad’s medication and reminded me that kindness still exists in so many forms.

Papi and Friends has truly opened doors for me as a serial knitter, allowing me to create, explore new patterns, and turn yarn into something meaningful. This is our last pop-up of the year, and I’m ending it with so much gratitude—not just for the support, but for the community that believed in me and my craft.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for weaving yourselves into this journey with me. Here’s to healing, hope, and more handmade stories in the year ahead 🧶✨
