In 2009, amidst the vibrant streets of Manila, Philippines, specifically in Quezon City, I embarked on a transformative journey into the world of tattooing. It was here that my brother, Randy Buenaventura, became my guiding light, introducing me to the intricate art of tattoo embroidery, igniting a passion within me that continues to burn brightly to this day.
My initiation into this captivating realm was further enriched by the mentorship of B**g Chan, whose prototype rotary machines became cherished tools of my trade. Together, we navigated the nuances of tattooing, shaping my craft and instilling in me a deep appreciation for the artistry behind each stroke of the needle.
As I ventured beyond the shores of my homeland, my arsenal of machines expanded. Micky Sharpz became my first branded acquisition, a symbol of my dedication and determination to excel in this ever-evolving craft. In Singapore, the CXA machine joined my collection, a testament to the diverse influences and experiences that have shaped my artistic journey.
Yet amidst the evolution of my tools and techniques, one truth remains constant—the unwavering gratitude I hold for the tattoo industry. It is a community that has nurtured and supported me, providing not only livelihood but a sense of belonging and purpose.
To the tattoo industry, I owe everything. It is through its embrace that I have found my voice, my passion, and my identity as an artist.
