It’s heartbreaking to see what’s circulating now in a social media group. I know the girl, not personally, but she was once our supplier. She distributed the bales I used to get from Manila. Ang sarap niyang panoorin kapag nagla-live. Her confidence, her energy, nakakaaliw talaga. Malakas ang live niya, and malakas din ang bentahan nya ng bulto. She would post so many beautiful blessings, fruits of her hard work in the ukay business.
Then this happened.
I don’t know the full story, so I choose not to judge. Instead, I pray she finds strength to overcome this trial and holds on to the faith in God she openly shared before.
But this is also a reminder for all of us in this industry. In the world of ukay, success can shine so brightly that it becomes blinding. Opportunities grow fast, but so do risks, temptations, and even there will be people who may take advantage.
As for me, there are days when I also feel like stopping. Pagod ang katawan, and the income isn’t always as good as before. But my very supportive husband, since day one of my ukay journey, always reminds me: “Laban lang. Ang mahalaga masaya tayo sa piso-pisong meron tayo. Dadami rin ang piso natin.”
And he’s right.
We may not have big things to flex, but we have Lovelypink Kloset. Built and established, anchored in our faith, integrity, and our desire to serve.
In this business, growth is good. Profit is good. But character is non-negotiable.
Praying for everyone in this industry. May we rise with humility and endure with grace. Most importantly never lose ourselves in the process
with 🩷,
Mrs. G
