It's really sad to hear about the tragedies at sea, especially since it happens too often. Recently, a Singaporean bulk carrier MV Devon Bay capsized and sank in South China Sea near Scarborough Shoal. 2 crew members were killed, 4 others were reported missing, and 15 were rescued. These incidents show the risks seafarers face in their job.

I'd imagine it's hard to cope with the risks of the sea, but it's different when it's someone you love. It's worrying, especially when tragedies keep happening.

As a seaman's wife, I'd feel like I'm right there with him, experiencing the waves and storms. When there's news of an accident, I'd be scared it might be him (Them).

The not knowing is probably the hardest part - not knowing what happened, if he's okay, or when he'll come home.

But despite the fear, I'd support him, because I know how much he wants to provide for our family.

Seafarers are true heroes. They sail the vast oceans to provide a better life for their families. According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), seafaring is one of the most dangerous professions in the world, with high rates of accidents and fatalities. Seafarers experience extreme physical and mental stress, including bad weather, machinery accidents, and more.

Their safety and well-being should be a top priority. I just wish that the Government, shipping companies, and organizations should work together to ensure their safety and security. 💪⚓️🌊🚢👨‍✈️❤️
