For more than two decades now, Merger has been known for creating cutting edge suits for the modern gentleman.
The ABS CBN Ball gave us the very first opportunity to create our version of the modern barong. We merged the features of the classic tuxedo shirt and the traditional barong by integrating a micro pleated front with French cuffs. We combined the textures of rough piña and smooth satin in a black on black monotone ensemble. And paired it with black tuxedo pants with satin side stripe. We kept it streamlined (with no embroidery) and came up with our simple yet classy version of the modern barong donned by Diether Ocampo as he walks through the red carpet.
