SURAVILLA was founded by Sandra Seifert, a Filipina-German TV Host, international model, and former beauty queen (Miss Philippines-Earth 2009 & Miss Earth-Air 2009). Apart from the entertainment space, Seifert completed her Nursing degree at BMCC, CUNY and is licensed to practice in New York. She was also a Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer for an online music startup. In 2014, Seifert became involved in numerous outreach programs and ministry work. It was during her talks at different churches that she realised her lack of modest wardrobe. When she attempted to shop for new clothing, she was surprised to discover that most brands commonly offered sexy cuts and designs. This challenged Seifert to design her own modest clothing, which eventually also lead to revamping her entire wardrobe. Her followers on social media soon took notice of this transformation and her personal designs captured interest among women particularly from conservative and religious backgrounds. In fact, Seifert's appreciation for minimalism is strongly reflected in her designs and styling of the collection campaigns.
