Every piece we create eventually becomes part of someone else’s story. 🪡

Over the years, we’ve met people whose creativity, kindness, and way of moving through the world have inspired us to keep doing what we do. They’ve reminded us that what connects us is often more meaningful than what makes us different.

That spirit led us to Kapwa Tao, Kapwa Tayo.

Inspired by the Filipino concept of kapwa, this series is our way of celebrating the people who inspire us—not just for what they do, but for who they are and how they choose to live.

Through these conversations, we hope you’ll discover stories that resonate, perspectives that encourage reflection, and perhaps even pieces of yourself in someone else.

Pack an order with us as we prepare one of our kimonos for its journey to a new home.

Every AMU piece is carefully prepared before it begins its journey. As a final touch, each kimono is packed in a handmade tampipi—a traditional woven basket crafted by weaving communities in Sorsogon.

More than beautiful packaging, it’s another way we celebrate Filipino craftsmanship and support the hands that keep these traditions alive.

Every AMU piece passes through many hands before it reaches yours. One of the most important is AC’s. 🪡

As our Production Manager, she’s the one who keeps everything moving—from coordinating with our partner makers to ensuring each garment is made with the care it deserves. She’s also behind many of the little things that make the AMU experience what it is, thoughtfully making sure every detail is in place.

We love having AC on our team. She’s always ready to lend a hand, takes pride in everything she does, and never misses even the smallest details. It’s this care and dedication that makes such a difference, both within our team and for everyone who chooses AMU. 👘

Before it leaves our hands, each order is carefully wrapped, packed, and accompanied by a handwritten note. A small gesture, perhaps—but one that means so much to us. 💌

When we met Ina, we were drawn not only to her beautiful embroidery, but to the story behind it—one of curiosity, patience, and a deep appreciation for the artistry of the Cordillera. Her journey reminded us that the things we create often begin with genuine wonder. 🧡
