SUE RAMIREZ CALLS OUT ALVIN ARAGON'S STATEMENTS
Award-winning actress Sue Ramirez responded to controversial comments made by Alvin Aragon, the first eliminated hopeful of StarStruck Season 1, regarding the departure of his wife Izzy Trazona from the veteran girl group SexBomb Girls.
In a comment on an ABS-CBN News Instagram post about Aragon's remarks on Trazona's departure, Ramirez criticized his framing and questioned the judgmental tone: "Na para bang kasalanan maging sexbomb???? Mas kasalanan kaya maging homophobic at transphobic."
In a recent interview on DWAR Abante Radyo, Aragon explained that Trazona left the group in 2009 after embracing Christianity, citing her personal convictions rather than any romantic or financial reasons. He emphasized that her decision was motivated by her beliefs about the group's name, clothing, and choreography, which he described as potentially inappropriate or provocative.
Aragon also linked his objections to LGBTQ identities to his religious beliefs, stating that being LGBTQ is contrary to God's teachings and that disobedience could lead to damnation. He specifically referenced his stepchild, drag queen Sofia Trazona, claiming that rejecting her transition aligned with his interpretation of biblical guidance.
