Lightning McQueen got his last name “McQueen” in honor of late Pixar animator Glenn McQueen, one of the studio’s most talented character animators. Glenn worked on beloved Pixar films like Toy Story and Monsters, Inc., and after his passing in 2002, Pixar named their new racing hero after him as a tribute to his legacy and contributions to animation.
So every time Lightning McQueen speeds onto the track, he also carries the memory of Glenn McQueen’s work and passion for animation. 🏁

I looked this up after I saw the end credits of the movie Finding Nemo, where it says “For Glenn McQueen". 🤍💯
