‼️
To DepEd City of Naga and to our City Officials,
Since we are not allowed to comment, I will say it here.
Kasabot ra man ko nga ibalik ang klase, kay tinuod man pud nga dili ta pwede pirmi mopause tungod sa natural calamities, we need to adapt. Agree ko ana nga side, and it’s good nga nagpasalig ang DepEd City of Naga nga safe ang mga buildings. Pero let’s be real, this is no longer just about the safety of buildings.
It’s about the trauma and anxiety nga giatubang sa mga bata, ug apil na ang mga teachers. Imagine, if ever there’s another strong quake, usa ra ka teacher ang mo-handle sa 30 to 50 students, that’s a huge responsibility and risk. Yes, it’s true nga di ta ka-predict og earthquake, pero let the record speak, sige pa man og aftershocks. That alone is something we should seriously consider.
Kung ingnon nga “pagbuot sa parents” kung pasudlon ba ang ilang anak, I understand that. Pero let’s ask ourselves, are we really going to rely on hope instead of being cautious?
And one more thing, the fact nga gi-turn off sa City of Naga ang comment section speaks volumes. It shows nga they don’t want us to speak up, as if they forgot nga we are the people who chose them. Our voices should matter, and they deserve to be heard.
Lastly, kung mo-insist gyud nga ipadayon, then go for online classes or modules. We’ve done that before, and it worked. Let’s allow the trauma and anxiety of students, teachers, and parents to settle first before forcing a return to face-to-face classes.
Because at the end of the day, learning can wait, lives and mental well-being cannot.
Disclaimer: This post reflects my personal opinion and concern as a citizen. It is not meant to discredit anyone, but to express a call for caution and empathy in light of ongoing aftershocks and trauma.
