RED LADYFINGER

Scientists from the Indian Institute of Vegetable Research (IIVR) have developed a special red coloured okra. It is named 'Kashi Lalima'.This red ladyfinger is much more nutritious and healthy than its green version. But unlike the green ladyfinger, which consists of chlorophyl, the red Bhindi has 'anthocyanins', which are pigments found naturally in foods, that give red, purple, and blue plants their rich coloring.Kashi Lalima is as easy to grow as the regular bhindi and also costs similar to the green one.

Thousand Fingers bananas

Thousand Fingers bananas (Musa ‘Thousand Fingers’) are one of many existing varieties of bananas. They are also known as Pisang Seribu and Bahasa Melayu. The Thousand Fingers banana plants prolifically produce very small fruits all along the stem. The skin is green ripening to bright yellow and the flesh paler yellow. Thousand Fingers bananas are seedless. The texture is soft and the flavor is very sweet. There are more than one thousand varieties of bananas, of which the Thousand Fingers banana is just one. Thousand Fingers banana plants originated in Southeast Asia—Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
