"My beloved KALIPI women, today we celebrate not only the garments you have sewn but also the friendships and lessons stitched into every piece. Each dress tells a story of your journey, your growth, and the bond we now share.

The pink flower blouse with yellow and pink skirt shines with joy and hope. The flowers remind us of how you have bloomed in confidence, while the bright colors reflect the happiness and courage that radiate from your hearts.

The gray flower blouse with plain gray skirt speaks of quiet strength. Gray may be simple, but it carries dignity and resilience—just like you, who have faced challenges yet remained steadfast and graceful.

The checkered blue pants symbolize creativity and uniqueness. Each square is different, yet together they form harmony—just as your diverse talents and personalities unite to create a beautiful sisterhood.

The black pants represent timeless elegance and determination. Black is strong and enduring, reminding us that the skills you have learned will remain useful and lasting throughout your lives.

Finally, the balloon skirt and Filipiniana bolero for your graduation dress is a symbol of pride and heritage. It reflects not only your achievement but also the honor of our culture, showing that you carry both tradition and progress with grace.

Through these garments, I see more than fabric—I see friendship, resilience, and empowerment. My prayer is that just as these dresses endure, so will the lessons you have learned and the bond we have built. May our friendship last, and may your skills continue to shine wherever life takes you."

A Message of Gratitude to Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our beloved Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez for making this Dressmaking NC II training possible through the Local Government Unit of Ormoc City.

This training is more than just learning how to sew. It is an opportunity to equip our KALIPI women with skills, confidence, and a chance to create a better livelihood for their families.

Because of the LGU’s support, our women were given the opportunity to learn, practice, create, and ultimately prove that with the right opportunity and support, they can achieve more than they ever imagined.

Mayor Lucy, thank you for believing in the potential of our women and for investing in their skills and future. Your support has helped turn their dreams into something they can now hold in their hands, their creations, their certificates, and most importantly, their renewed confidence.

May God continue to bless you, your family, and the City Government of Ormoc as you continue to empower our people through meaningful programs and opportunities.

Daghang salamat, Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez, for supporting our KALIPI women and for being part of their journey toward a brighter and more empowered future.

“Empowering women through skills, creating opportunities, and building better lives—one stitch at a time.”
