What did I gain by surrendering my life to Christ?
This is one of the most common questions unbelievers ask those who have fully surrendered their lives to Him. If you were to ask me, I'd say that, on the surface, not much has changed. I still work the same job, live in the same house, and from a worldly perspective, my financial situation might have improvedβor maybe it hasnβt. Outwardly, things look the same.
But deep within, the transformation is undeniable. My temper, once quick to flare, has softened. When I lose something I hold dear, Iβve learned to release it with more grace. In situations where people try to cut ahead of me in line, I find myself practicing patience instead of anger.
In moments of misunderstanding with my spouse, I now pause and ask, What would Jesus do in this situation? This question has shifted my perspective, guiding me to respond with love instead of frustration.
But perhaps the most important change is in how I handle disappointment. When I fall short of the goals Iβve to reach, I am reminded of God's perfect timing. Heβs in control, and my job is to trust and surrender.
In every circumstanceβgood or badβI find myself anchored in this verse: "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." (Job 1:21)
Surrender doesnβt mean that life becomes perfect or easier. It means finding peace in knowing that Godβs plan is greater than mine, and learning to trust Him with everything.
