One of the most important artifacts confirming that present-day Pila is the ancient Pailah mentioned in the Laguna Copperplate Inscription.

Artifacts displayed at the Pila Museum date back from the 10th to the 19th century, reflecting Pilaโ€™s long-standing role as a center of culture, trade, and history in Laguna.

1959 โ€” The last veterans of the Philippine Revolution and the Philippineโ€“American War gather in Lipa. Once Katipuneros, always Katipuneros. Even in old age, they stood as living testaments to sacrifice and independence.

In precolonial Philippines, signal fires were vital tools for communicationโ€”sending urgent warnings across mountains and waterways. A timeless symbol of vigilance and unity long before modern technology.๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿž๏ธ

Before Batangas forged steel, it forged gold.
From riverbeds and mountains, our ancestors shaped treasures worn by chiefs and traded across seas.

Centuries later, that same precision lives on โ€” not in gold, but in the razor-sharp steel of the balisong.
Hands of gold, now hands of steel. ๐Ÿ”ชโœจ

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿค๐Ÿชถ From Turtle Island to the Islands โ€” two cultures, one shared fight to protect whatโ€™s sacred.

This June, we celebrate Filipino Heritage Month and Indigenous History Month โ€” honoring the resilience of peoples shaped by colonization, yet never defined by it.

As Filipino-Canadians, we live on land that isnโ€™t ours โ€” Turtle Island, where Indigenous Peoples have long protected the land, water, and their way of life.

In the Philippines, Canadian mining companies continue to operate on Indigenous lands โ€” displacing communities, damaging ecosystems, and in some cases, silencing those who speak out.

Here in Canada, the story isnโ€™t so different.

That connection calls us not just to reflect, but to stand.
To listen. To walk beside.
To recognize that solidarity is a responsibility โ€” not a slogan.

We rise together, with care and respect.
