Greater flamingos are found in the middle east, including Iran, Turkey, Dubai, Oman, and Afghanistan. They are also common in south and southwest Asia. Greater flamingos are also found at lower densities in west Africa, South America, and numerous locations around Europe, such as Italy, Greece, and France. In Africa, greater flamingos are also found in areas such as Ethiopia, Kenya, and Egypt; though they are uncommonly found there. Occasionally, they are also found in other areas, such as Austria, Germany, Poland, and Sweden; however, they are considered vagrant in these areas.
