TL;DR: Support should never be disrespected.
For all the years that we have existed, our goal has never been solely about profit. 1H Clothing was never our bread and butter — it has always been our passion.
Our concept has always focused on what we genuinely love to wear, not on what would simply fill our pockets.
Over the years, we have supported various chapters, communities, local councils, and AAs — many of them free of charge. Most of them used our work to raise funds, and it has never been an issue for us. We were always happy to help and be part of something meaningful.
We have also seen some of our previous works used by other artists or clothing brands. Because their purpose aligned with ours — to help — we chose to let it slide.
However, we have encountered instances where individuals altered our designs to insert their own ideas. This would never have been a problem if proper coordination and respect had been observed.
In this line of work — especially when it is driven by passion — respect for someone’s craft is essential.
Professional graphic artists typically provide at least three revisions for a layout, especially when the service is paid. How much more when the work is done free of charge?
Clients should not alter designs however they wish, whether paid or not. Regardless of who benefits from the design, the proper approach is to communicate clearly with the artist about what you want to see. If revisions are needed, discuss them respectfully. If the final output does not meet your expectations, then you always have the option to create your own.
A simple gesture of appreciation would have been enough for the hard work we willingly gave for free. Accountability speaks louder than arrogance — especially when we have extended nothing but support for your leadership, your fundraising efforts, and most importantly, your legacy.
We sincerely hope this does not happen again — especially to our team, who poured their creativity, time, and passion into every piece. And we hope it never happens to you as well.
Accountability builds character.
Arrogance destroy it.
Respect will always take you further.
