It is deeply disgusting and makapa insulto to see a page call itself "The Igorot" while showing such blatant IGNORANCE toward the soul of our culture. To the creator of this post: you claim our name, yet you are actively undermining the very hands that keep our heritage alive.

There is a sacred, heavy hardship in real weaving. This is a truth known by every weaver in the Cordillera and across the world who spends weeks hunched over a loom. They do not just produce. They bleed their time and their health into every thread. Their art is born from callouses, aching backs, and a level of patience that a printer will never possess. A machine can mimic a pattern, but it can never replicate a pulse.

On a personal level, this is beyond heartbreaking. It is insulting. My family owns a weaving shop, Rose Ann's Fabric Gallery, and I see the reality behind the thread every single day. My mom is the heartbeat of our designs. She does not just make patterns. She draws inspiration from our environment, our mountains, and our life here to create something original and meaningful. To see her vision and the work of our weavers and sewers flattened into a cheap digital print is a slap in the face.

This is not the first time this has happened. Whether it is people hitting print on a heritage they did not earn or other shops shamelessly copying my mom’s original woven designs, it is a betrayal of our craft. If you truly cared about being "The Igorot," you would honor MP Ordinance No. 573. This law was created to protect our culture from this exact type of exploitation.

You can copy the silhouette. You can copy the pattern. You can even use our name for clout. However, you will never have the dignity of the people who actually know how to weave our story into reality. Stop calling yourselves "The Igorot" when you are the ones killing our industry.

What an incredible week at Weavescapes of Cordillera Fashion Expo. The entire event was truly amazing, a spectacular showcase of the talented featured designers and their works.❤️💞💪

A huge thank you to Harvic Dominguez and team for inviting us to be part of this event. It was an honor to connect with everyone. 🙏💞.

I am truly awed by how far our weaving tradition has traveled and evolved over the past two or more decades. Seeing its incredible journey makes me so proud and challenged. Cheers weavers all over the world.🙏💪. Lets continue loving the craft that we do.
