How It All Began (a true story) 🌟
Our story didn’t start in a design studio or some fancy fashion house. It started in a dance studio—with a little girl who loved ballet more than anything. From the age of 7, she danced with everything she had—grace, grit, and a spark you couldn’t ignore. She even earned a scholarship for her talent. For her, ballet wasn’t just a hobby. It was home. But at 11, life hit hard. She was diagnosed with Refsum Disease— a rare, genetic condition that causes vision loss, nerve damage, hearing problems, and muscle weakness. Suddenly, the dance floor she loved? It felt like it was slipping away. There were tears. Days when giving up would’ve been easier. But she didn’t. Instead, she picked up something new—something she could still control: creativity. She started designing shirts—simple messages that spoke louder than words: You’re strong. You’ve got this. God’s got you. What began as a quiet little project at home became the heartbeat of something bigger. Glitz & Glee was born—a family-run brand built on her story, her strength, and her refusal to dim her light. And then came Alisha, also known as Chika. A bright soul with a fierce love for design, Alisha brought an entire world of warmth, fun, and visual joy to Glitz & Glee. She gave personality to our messages—literally—by sketching Glimmy, a glowing bunny with the biggest heart, and her whimsical friends who remind us all that even small lights can shine bright. Through late-night drawing sessions, character planning, and a deep faith that anchored every sketch, Alisha helped turn this brand into a whole movement of joy and truth—one that children, teens, and grown-ups can all connect with. The Challenge:
Let’s be honest—this journey hasn’t been all glitter and smooth sailing. We’ve had our fair share of trial and error (hello, crooked prints and late-night design meltdowns). But every hiccup? It taught us something. Every challenge? It shaped us. From learning how to get the perfect press to figuring out what truly speaks to the soul, it’s been a ride. But here’s the heart of it: we’re building Glitz & Glee for people who need that little spark of encouragement—because we’ve needed it too.And if our tees can bring even one smile, one reminder of strength, or one boost of “I got this”—then every bump was worth it. ✨
