Long before the Made by Pearl Sewing Services or more popularly known as Made by Pearl was established in February 2015, its owner Jo Anne Pearl H. Tadeo was first engaged into online buying and selling of various s
ewing notions dated back in the year 2010, using her back pay money from her previous job after her resignation. This led her to the thought of putting up a business so she can share her advocacy with her target market. Owner’s primary purpose is to help saving our environment through the use of various eco-friendly products as alternative to the disposable ones already existing in the market. These products are washables and reusable by nature and include:

Actually, never in the owner's dream that she will be putting a business like this since she studied Hotel and Restaurant-related course. Having no background or formal study in an institution about sewing, she began researching online and watching sewing videos at the same time. She also started looking for second-hand sewing machines that she can use while learning on her own. She likewise joined different online sewing support group for exchange of ideas and information. Time goes by and she began sewing various items made of cloth. Most of these items as mentioned above can be made personalized by choosing the fabric the customer desires based on the available stocks and by adding embroidery designs. All of these are being sewn personally by the Owner with the help of family members. Cloth and other sewing supplies are bought from local market and from various online sellers, too. At first, we thought that nobody will be interested in our products offering. However, we proved ourselves wrong especially when we successfully passed on the first try the screening in joining national events like the annually-held National Trade Fair and the always much-awaited National Arts and Crafts Fair being held at SM Megamall where people from various walks of life went to our shop to buy our products and it was indeed a blast. Likewise, the Owner is being invited regularly by the City of San Fernando, Pampanga Tourism Office and by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in its various sponsored events, bazaars and trade fairs across the city, region and on national level, as earlier mentioned. With this, Made by Pearl has captured the attention of local and national TV Stations like ABS-CBN Pampanga, CLTV 36 and GMA News TV who featured its cloth products offering in their respective shows in a bid to raise awareness on how one can contribute preserving our habitat in his/her own little ways. Since then, more opportunities keep coming. Made by Pearl has been invited to different environment-related programs to give inspirational talk as a guest speaker and even served as a judge in Mutya at Lakan ning San Fernando 2019 pageant during its Advocacy Presentation segment. The most recent one, held on September 05, 2019, is an appreciation given by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau Region III for its participation to the Bureau’s Environmental Summit 2019. Owner is also a graduate of DTI Pampanga’s Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) Batch 3 program where different strategic planning sessions were provided to help Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises plan on how they can bring their respective businesses to greater heights. And earlier this 2021, the company has been named as one (1) of the ten (10) national winners of J&T Express Philippines’ contest where it received free shipping support for its business. The Owner was also one (1) of the keynote speakers during the launching of SIBUL : Young Entrepreneurship Program in Pampanga where she shared the company’s success story and encouraged everyone to start as young as possible being an entrepreneur. When the pandemic started early of 2020, people realized the importance of using washable products and our products offering like face mask, cloth feminine pads, cloth diapers and many others have been on a very high demand and have become essential daily products. It even came to the point that the owner and her family will be taking their sleep in the morning already just to finish production and for orders to be delivered to customers on time. As earlier mentioned, Made by Pearl is originally born online and has been in existence for quite a long time now to various platforms like our page and Shopee so the company has never encountered difficulty during this time in terms of marketing and freight. As most people also shifted to sewing during this time, so the competition rises. However, as it always does, Made by Pearl has been continuously innovating its products especially its washable face mask. From the ordinary ones, it now offers 3D design and the washable, breathable face mask which comes in different prints. It also launched on the same year a Christmas-themed face mask. Made by Pearl believes in the power of innovation as this addresses your target market’s demands. You need to “solve the problem” by offering something different from the ones already existing. Through this, you can keep your foothold in the market. This is proven in our case as most of our customers keep on coming back and have become our loyal followers and customers. Through the years, Made by Pearl has continuously discovering other eco-friendly and cost-effective products that are valuable, useful and beneficial not only for human consumption but most importantly, those that can help alleviate our environmental issues to date. The company is delighted to the acceptance of the products of the market it serves knowing that people are now more concerned to our natural world on how they can help protect it.
