Lea Salonga has shared a powerful message about parenting, stressing that unconditional love is a non-negotiable responsibility for anyone who chooses to have children.
In a recent interview, Salonga addressed the importance of accepting children for who they are, particularly if they come out as part of the LGBTQ+ community.
She emphasized that love from a parent should never be conditional, saying:
“Do not have kids if you think you will not be able to love your child if they come out to you and say mom i am gay, mom i’m le***an, mom i’m bisexual, mom i am trans. If under those conditions your love will stop, don’t have children.
Save yourself the drama. Save yourself the heartbreak. Kasi kung hindi mo kaya huwag nalang because children are not customizable.”
