2024 is year of the DRAGON. Did you know that dragons are mythical creatures, meaning they are not real ๐ข . But there is an animal named "Komodo Dragon" (๐๐ข๐ณ๐ข๐ฏ๐ถ๐ด ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ด๐ช๐ด), though not a real dragon, they are scary and also Ve-nomous (Tifโ, 2019).
One interesting fact about the Komodo dragon's venom is that its saliva contains a compound known as DRGN-1 (dragonin) ๐ฑ ๐จ (Merchant et al., 2013). While the Komodo dragon's venom is deadly to its prey, the dragon itself appears to be protected by its own venom's antimicrobial components (Van Hoek et al., 2019), and that's Sssscience! ๐
