This photo taken with my lovely models serves as a reminder of a magical evening where I had the opportunity to work with some of the most inspiring and talented creatives and fashion designers in the country!

OBRA MAESTRA was a grand celebration of Filipino Heritage, Culture and Artistry held last Sept 12, 2024 at the Metropolitan Theatre and the brainchild of Cultural & Arts impresario and Book Publisher / Author Zardo Austria.

I found myself backstage tapping to the beat of the melodious voices of the Singers, inspired by the creations of my fellow fashion designers and thinking that we have such a rich and beautiful culture and heritage!

It is a privilege to make a humble contribution towards keeping our roots alive by showcasing designs using our traditional handwoven Inabel fabrics created by women led weaving communities in Abra.

HERE'S A VOWTIP! : Decide how you want your vows to come across. Do you envision them as humorous? Poetic and romantic? Go over the logistics too. Will you write them separately or together? Will they be completely different or will you make the same promises to each other as you would with traditional vows? Some couples do a little of each. Finally, will you share them with each other or keep them a secret until the wedding day?

Ever wonder why wedding rings go on the left?
The story of why the wedding ring is worn on the left hand can be traced back to ancient times (really). In that era, the Romans believed that the vein in the ring finger (the fourth finger) on the left hand ran directly to one's heart. Because of this belief, they called that vein the "vena amoris" or vein of love. Naturally, to solidify a union based on love, they'd place the ring on that finger that housed the vein of love to signify the romance that the newly married couple shared.

After the groomsmen and bridesmaids make their way down the aisle, your littlest wedding attendants, the ring bearer and flower girl, make their debut. While often one of the most awww-inducing parts of the ceremony, there is also an opportunity for some mishaps given the ring bearer's young age.A ring bearer is usually a young boy between the ages of 4 and 8 who has a special connection to the bride and groom. He may be related to them, or just be a family friend. His role is to carry the rings down the aisle to the couple. Usually, the rings are tied to a pillow and then the ring bearer carries this pillow down the aisle. While a ring bearer is a traditional part of a wedding ceremony, you may opt to not have one. If you go this route, the best man traditionally carries the rings in his pocket.
