Here are some of the many artisans that make of the collective of Inhabited Art.

KURAME is a brand made up of artisan women in the Huichol tribe. KURAME means "heal me" in Spanish and it is also the word for the sound of the husking of the corn in the Huichol Tribe. The corn stalk is sacred to the Wixáritari.

Like all Huichol art, the bead work depicts the prominent patterns and symbols featured in the Huichol religion.

This bracelet is handmade by the native people in the Amazon Rainforest of Peru. It is made with chambira, “jungle rope” sourced from vines and with special seeds hand picked by members of the Shipibo Tribe. This bracet includes the seeds from the Rosario plant and the Huayruro tree.

The Rosario plant is known as Lagrima de Virgen, or Tears of the Virgin (Mother Mary). Through Spanish conquest the catholic religion has been woven into the culture of the indegenious people of Peru. Today their spiritual practices include an interweaving of their native traditions, shamanism, and catholic beliefs.

The Huayruro Tree is a tall indigenous tree in the Amazon Rainforest that has been an integral part of Peruvian Culture for centuries. Believed to ward off negative energy, it is said to bring abundance, prosperity, and protection. Artisans of the Shipibo Tribe from small villages in the jungle find and weave these seeds into jewelry.
