🌸 Dua for Forgiveness

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
Astaghfirullāha wa atūbu ilayh
“I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him.”

Powerful Dua from the Prophet ﷺ

اللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuḥibbul-‘afwa fa‘fu ‘annī
“O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.”

سيد الاستغفار (The Best Dua for Seeking Forgiveness)

اللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Allahumma anta rabbī lā ilāha illā anta, khalaqtanī wa anā ‘abduka, wa anā ‘alā ‘ahdika wa wa‘dika mastata‘tu. A‘ūdhu bika min sharri mā ṣana‘tu, abū’u laka bini‘matika ‘alayya, wa abū’u bidhambī faghfir lī fa innahu lā yaghfirudh-dhunūba illā anta.

“O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You…”

Quranic Dua

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ
Rabbighfir lī wa tub ‘alayya innaka antat-Tawwābur-Raḥīm
“My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of Repentance, the Most Merciful.” 🤍

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamd, wa huwa ʿalā kulli shay’in qadīr.

“There is no god but Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs all dominion and praise, and He has power over all things.”

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafah…”
— Jamiʿ at-Tirmidhi

You can also make personal du’a throughout the day. Here’s a simple heartfelt one in English:

“O Allah, forgive my sins, guide my heart, bless my family, grant me goodness in this life and the next, and accept my prayers and repentance.”

Another powerful Qur’anic du’a:

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah wa qina ‘adhaban-nar.

“Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.” (Qur’an 2:201)

May Allah accept your du’as and grant you a blessed Day of Arafah.

🫵 YOU WANT A GOOD ENDING (husn al-khatimah)
The time between Asr and Maghrib on the Day of Arafah is among the most powerful moments for dua 🤍 Especially at Mount Arafat and Jabal al-Rahmah.

Some of the best duas to repeat:

🤲 رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah wa qina ‘adhaban-nar
🌿 “O Allah, grant us goodness in this world and the Hereafter and protect us from the Fire.”

🤲 اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni
🌿 “O Allah, You love to forgive, so forgive me.”

🤲 لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

At Jabal al-Rahmah on the Day of Arafah, the best dua is to sincerely ask Allah for forgiveness, mercy, guidance, Jannah, protection, and acceptance 🤍

One of the greatest authentic duas to recite is:

🕋 لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

La ilaha illAllahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer.

🌿 “None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs all ملك (kingdom) and all praise, and He has power over everything.”

The Prophet ﷺ said this is among the best duas on the Day of Arafah 🤍

You can also make personal duas such as:

🤲 “O Allah forgive me and my parents”
🤲 “Grant me Jannah and protect me from Hellfire”
🤲 “Accept my Hajj and my عبادات”
🤲 “Give me health, halal rizq, and beneficial life”
