A productive workplace is a healthy one 🍃

Our team came together for a Behavioral and Soft Skills session led by Sameen Adil Sheikh, Executive Director at SHINE, which focused on emotional intelligence, empathy, self-regulation, and the kind of interpersonal awareness that makes teams genuinely function well together. Participants also practiced the 4-7-8 breathing technique, a simple, evidence-based tool for managing stress in the moment.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. For us, the most meaningful way to observe it is to invest in the people who make Soorty what it is, not just in what they produce, but in how they experience a regular working day. This is what looks like from the inside.

Some details are made to be seen up close. This is the Shadows concept, Rebellion Noir.

He is wearing a cotton rigid vest in a specially designed box pattern weave. Black overdye gives the fabric even more depth. And at the back - a laser detail that makes this vest something worth turning around for. Paired with seersucker rigid denim in the same black overdye, woven from a cotton and Second Life®️ recycled cotton blend with a silver metal and black leather pocket details.

Rebellion Noir doesn’t ask for permission, and neither do they. 👖🖤🪽

📸 : She is wearing a cotton rigid shirt in the Shadows subconcept, seersucker weave that lets light through while keeping its edge. Black overdye, subtle slubs, metal details that mean exactly what they look like.
Her jeans follow the same logic: seersucker again, this time a cotton & traceable Second Life® recycled cotton blend, authentic denim with a diagonal silver zipper that runs the full length. From color to construction to trims, all these details are bold and intentional.
He is wearing a box pattern weave vest in cotton rigid, black overdye, with a laser detail at the back that rewards a second look. Same fabric as her jeans.

The MET Gala Through an Denim Lens

To celebrate the MET 26 season, we created a series of digital denim collages that reinterpret standout gala looks alongside the artworks that inspired them.

From Gracie Abrams’ Chanel look echoing the ornamental intimacy of Gustav Klimt, to Ben Platt’s Tanner Fletcher ensemble reimagined through the atmospheric pointillism of Georges Seurat, each composition examines the relationship between garment, muse and medium. Rachel Zegler’s sculptural Prabal Gurung moment is paired against the dramatic romanticism of Paul Delaroche, while Hunter Schafer’s Prada look draws on the delicate symbolism and decorative softness of Klimt’s Mäda Primavesi.

Rather than simply recreating iconic looks, we wanted to ask ourselves a broader question: what happens when denim that is historically associated with utility and workwear, becomes a canvas for fine art interpretation?

Crafted through a spectrum of denim tones and textures, denim becomes canvas, and fashion becomes art history in motion.

Last week, we had the honor of welcoming Mr. Mohamed Yahya, UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Pakistan, and his delegation to Soorty for a factory tour, a roundtable, and an honest exchange on what responsible manufacturing can look like at scale.

From our UN Women partnership now entering Phase 2, with plans to scale into Balochistan and pivot toward circular textile applications, to gender-inclusion milestones built into our operations over years, to the Nurah disability-inclusion initiative producing dolls from 100% reclaimed material, the conversation covered the full breadth of what Soorty is building and deepened our existing partnership with ILO Better Work.

We leave the visit with a clear, forward-looking agenda: deeper engagement with UN Women, ILO Better Work, and UNESCO.

Thanking each colleague across the group who contributed to making this day the success it was. Proud of what DENIMKIND stands for - in Pakistan, and beyond.
