What gives knitwear its shape?
At first, it can seem like the visual idea is the most important part: the silhouette, the texture, the overall look.
But in knitwear, two products can look very similar in a reference and still behave completely differently once they’re actually developed.
The construction, the structure, the gauge and the way the knit is built all influence how the final product holds its shape and how close it stays to the original idea. And often, that’s the difference between a product that only looks good in inspiration photos and one that actually works in reality.
That’s why, when developing knitwear, it’s important to look beyond the visual side and pay attention to the technical decisions behind the product too.
This is exactly the part we help brands work through during development.
