The first ship, “Open Arms”, carrying food aid approaches Gaza. The Israeli blockade approved this test of a sea corridor from Cyprus to Gaza. Some aid agencies have stated that the priority should be for Israel to allow aid through the existing land routes. Over half a million people in Gaza are starving and 27 people, mostly children, have died due to malnutrition and dehydration, according to the Ministry of Health.
