Celebrating 33 Years of Portuguese Surf Culture

Some collaborations are about putting two names together. Others are about celebrating a shared history.

One year after creating the new visual identity for SURFOZ 93, MYNKA is taking the collaboration one step further celebrating 33 years of one of Portugal’s most respected independent surf shops.

To mark the occasion, the entire SURFOZ 93 team will be wearing custom-made MYNKA Oversized Work Tees, crafted from premium 200gsm cotton.
More than staff uniforms, these pieces were designed to reflect the identity, heritage and personality of SURFOZ 93.

The exclusive artwork created by the MYNKA creative team brings together two original hand-crafted concepts.
The first explores freehand linework, inspired by the movement, texture and energy of ocean waves.

The second introduces a bold New Wave Flower Power pattern, combining vibrant colour with a contemporary interpretation of the optimism, freedom and creativity that have always been part of surf culture.

The result is a collection that connects heritage and modern design celebrating where SURFOZ 93 came from while looking confidently towards the future.

For 33 years, SURFOZ 93 has remained independent, authentic and deeply connected to its community. Through an industry that has changed dramatically, the shop has stayed true to what matters: surfing, people, passion and local culture.
And even today, you can still walk into the shop and be personally welcomed by its founder a constant presence whose experience, passion and commitment continue to shape the SURFOZ 93 experience.

Portuguese Graffiti Heritage Meets Nordic Design

Some collaborations are built in meeting rooms. Others begin on the street.

For AY26, MYNKA joins forces with Portuguese graffiti pioneer AeRo to present a limited capsule collection celebrating more than three decades of authentic graffiti culture through two premium everyday essentials.

This isn’t about putting graffiti onto clothing.
It’s about preserving a piece of Portuguese urban history.
Every line, curve and letter comes directly from AeRo’s original freestyle, transferred onto heavyweight garments without compromising the rhythm, movement and personality that define authentic graffiti lettering.

The capsule features two timeless silhouettes:

OVERSIZED T-SHIRT
Premium 230gsm, 100% cotton with a pre-washed finish for a naturally faded vintage appearance and an exceptionally soft feel. The relaxed oversized fit keeps the artwork at the centre, complemented by a premium woven MYNKA chest label.

REGULAR FIT HOODIE
Crafted from heavyweight 330gsm, 100% premium cotton. Clean, functional and understated, it features a kangaroo pocket intentionally sized to fit a spray can a discreet detail understood by anyone who has lived graffiti culture. Finished with a woven MYNKA chest label.

Behind the graphics lies a genuine story.
It began in Parede in the mid-1990s, where AeRo developed his lettering alongside school friends Wize (R.I.P.) and Exas.
As Portuguese graffiti evolved, AeRo became one of the country’s early writers to paint a train, together with Saxe and Italian writer Shampoo, who was living in Portugal at the time.

Those early years helped shape a visual language that remains unmistakably AeRo’s today.
Rather than simply recreating the past, MYNKA gives that history a new surface.
