Dear Artefacto Friends,

Here is a short reminder that the deadline for the Artefacto Exhibition
for your Art, Craft and Produce is this Monday the 7th December between
11am and 3 pm at Artefacto, Benfeita.

The opening of the exhibition is on the 12th between 3pm to 5pm with
drinks and nibbles.

The Auction will be on the 13th at 3pm during the Estrella Christmas
Market from !1am to 5pm.

For those who are not sure where we are go to the centre of the village
of Benfeita and to the right of the post office there is a sign leading
you there down a short alley way.

We look forward to seeing you soon and please pass the word around about
the exhibition to friends and neighbours.

The second in our series of film and discussion evenings on subjects related to Transition is this Saturday! The topic this time is Peak Oil and our over-use of all the world's resources. The problem of peak oil was one of the original motivations behind the Transition movement; come and find out what it's all about!

We have another easy-to-follow animated film to show you, with Portuguese subtitles. Kin and I will introduce the film and make some comments after it. At the end, we'll have time for some general discussion about what all this means for the Transition process, especially in Benfeita.

Remember that the best form of outreach is personal introductions. Please try to bring along or invite one person you know!

The venue is Artefacto, and there will be drinks available.

Saturday November 7at 19:00 at Artefacto in Benfeita.

Entrance is free. Come early to get a seat!

The ideas is to show a couple of short films interspersed with brief talks about the issues raised. The first film is "Money As Debt", which explains in very simple terms why our banks have indirectly caused many of the problems that Transition addresses (and are continuing to cause them). The second film will illustrate how an alternative type of economy might operate. At the end, we'll have time for some general discussion about what all this means for the Transition process, especially in Benfeita.
