"TROTINETE EXPANDS WITH PLANNING STRENGTH
Responsible for Portuguese Pavilion uniforms

Trotinete, a Portuguese uniform manufacturer, is known for producing the official uniforms of the Portugal Pavilion at the Osaka–Kansai Expo.

At the A+A 2025 International Trade Fair for Safety, Security and Health at Work in Düsseldorf, the company prominently displayed the pavilion’s official uniforms and the style book at its booth, highlighting its strong design capabilities and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.

Building on these strengths, the company aims to expand its custom-made production.

The official Portugal Pavilion uniform features a pattern inspired by cedar wood, believed to have arrived in the Azores from Japan. Printing techniques were used to recreate the scorched surface of burned cedar.

Trotinete handled the cutting, sewing and finishing processes. All materials — including organic cotton yarn, printing dyes and processing chemicals — were carefully selected for their low environmental impact.

Through this project, the company pursued the creation of garments that combine environmental sustainability, comfort and innovative design.

Trotinete develops uniforms for a wide range of sectors — from service and hospitality to medical and workwear — under the “TROT” brand, producing all garments entirely in Portugal. The company also carries out individual custom-made projects for clients.

Known for its affinity with Japan, Trotinete even presented unique uniform designs inspired by traditional sushi-chef attire.

Founded in 1992 by Matilde Vasconcelos as a school uniform manufacturer, the company later expanded into medical, hospitality and service uniforms, continuing its steady growth to the present day. "
