e train Mozambican women from vulnerable social and economic backgrounds to design and create original, locally-sourced clothing for a living. We have chosen the vibrant capulana fabrics (African wax print) to create our unique, everyday clothes for women, men and kids since capulanas form the social fabric of women’s lives throughout Africa. IKURU believes that as consumers, we can make a difference through our choices. That’s why we invest in professional training, create job opportunities and provide an encouraging working environment for women, where they may develop a sense of pride and achievement through their handcrafted clothing. We trust that they, their children and their communities will grow as a result.
