What’s your favourite hobby?
The one that you turn to when you need a pick-me-up or when you need to lose yourself in something?
Have you found that each time you go through a different life stage you find yourself wondering if you need to “start all over again” or find a new hobby? Student life, single life, married life, life with babies, having older kids in school, moving to a new city, new country or new community…
Today I want to challenge you to recognize a skill that you’ve honed throughout the different stages in your life.
One that maybe has gotten a little rusty, but that can be brought out again no matter where you are or who you’re with.
Those kinds of skills and interests can unite you with others, no matter what stage of life you’re in or where you are!
In this picture I’m playing music at a lovely little family cafe in the San Francisco Bay Area with my friend Katie.
We had toddlers, as did almost of the people in the cafe. It was an amazing way for us to use our skills and feel fulfilled during a particularly tough stage of parenting.
It was uplifting stuff!
Our friends loved coming to see us, because their kids could play safely while they sat and listened. If you can get creative, you can always make it work.
What is your skill or hobby that brings you back to yourself no matter where you are?
